第１コリント 2:1-16

S: 第１コリント 2:12 ところで、私たちは、この世の霊を受けたのではなく、神の御霊を受けました。それは、恵みによって神から私たちに賜ったものを、私たちが知るためです。

O: This is very important, but then, the whole Bible is the Word of God, so where's the surprise? The point of this verse fits in perfectly with what I feel such an urgency for: that Japanese believers would understand who they are in Christ. As this verse makes clear, that will happen only by the revelation of the Holy Spirit. What God has provided for us in Christ is so mind boggling that there is no way we can grasp it unless the Holy Spirit reveals it to our minds and hearts. As a side note, the NIV says “freely given us,” where the Japanese says “given us by grace.” I like the reminder that it's nothing we have earned. The moment we forget that, either we refuse what God has provided because we don't deserve it, or we fall into pride thinking we do deserve it. Either way, we fall into a pretty big trap. God has indeed done more for us than our minds can grasp, but every bit of it is by grace, and not something we have earned or can take personal pride in.

O: これは大変、重要です。しかし、聖書全体が神様の御言葉であるので、これで驚くのですか？私は日本人信者がキリストにあって何者かを理解する必要が緊急にあると感じていますが、まさにこの御言葉は、そのことに呼応しています。この節がはっきりと述べているように、それは聖霊の啓示によってしか起こりません。キリストにあって神が私たちのためになさったことは、圧倒されるほどのことなので、聖霊によって私たちの心と思いに啓示されない限り、理解できません。ＮＩＶの傍注には、「無償で与えられた」となっていますが、日本語訳では「恵みによって与えられた」となっています。私たちが獲得するものではないと言う教えを私は気に入っています。これを忘れた瞬間、もはや神様の備えに値しなくなり、拒んでしまいます。あるいは、価すると自惚れてしまうかのどちらかでしょう。いずれにせよ、大きな罠にはまることに違いはありません。神様は私たちが理解を超えたことをしてくださいます。その一つ一つは恵みによるのであって、私たちが獲得したり、個人的に誇れれる事ではありません。

A: This makes my course of action pretty clear: I need to be praying for an outpouring of the Holy Spirit on the believers so that He will reveal all these things to their hearts. In the mean time, I need to be faithful to share the Word, teaching and admonishing and encouraging with all diligence and love. I need t ask and allow the Holy Spirit to reveal to me what the Father has planned for me and the tools He's given me to accomplish that. And I need to commit myself to use what I have been given in faithful obedience to God. It is all by God's grace and on His schedule; I'm to be neither proud nor anxious. Rather, I am to be thankfully, joyfully obedient.

Ａ：　この御言葉が、私の行動をとても明確なものにしています。全ての信者の心に示されるように、聖霊が彼らに注がれるように祈ります。そうしながらも、御言葉を分かち合い、教え、諌め、励ましていきます。勤勉と愛を持って。御父の私への御計画と、その達成のために私に下さった道具を、聖霊様に掲示してくださるようにお願いします。神様に従順であるために信仰を持照るように、自分自身を用いて仕えたちと思います。全ては神様の恵みと時宜です。高慢になったり、心配したりする必要はありません。むしろ、感謝し、喜び、従っていたいと思います。

P: Father, thank You indeed for this encouraging word. Thank You for the message You're growing in me for Sunday. Guide in my preparations for that, both in the outline and in the props, so that what You want to say may communicate clearly to all my hearers, for Your glory. Thank You. Praise God!
