第１コリント 1:18-31

S: 第１コリント 1:18 十字架のことばは、滅びに至る人々には愚かであっても、救いを受ける私たちには、神の力です。Sophisticated Christians

O: Paul expands this statement through the rest of the chapter, because it is extremely important. Being written under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, it probably blessed Paul even in the writing of it! Paul had been called many names, some of them really ugly, because of his evangelistic activities, and because he was an intelligent and educated man, perhaps words like “stupid” and “crazy” really stung at times. However, he knew that God's evaluation is far more important and accurate than man's, and here God was speaking vindication through him. Paul was speaking in his immediate cultural context, but actually very little has changed in the way the world looks at the Gospel. “Sophisticated Christians” in some denominations proclaim much of the Bible to be mythology, denying the miracles and even the resurrection of Christ, even in their seminaries. According to this verse, that proves they are headed for destruction! Intellectual pride is an extremely dangerous thing, because it tempts us to place ourselves above God and His revelation.

O: 　この節の残りのを通して、パウロはこの言葉をさらに続けて教えています。とても重要な教えだからです。聖霊のインスピレーションを受けて書いているので、書いている途中でもパウロは恐らく祝福を受けていたでしょう！パウロは沢山の名前で呼ばれましたが、そのうちの幾つかはとてもひどいものでした。それは彼が伝道活動者であり、賢く、教養のある人だったためですが、多分「馬鹿」とか「気違い」などと呼ばれていたのでしょう。しかし、パウロは神様による評価の方が、人間の評価よりも、さらに重要で、正しいことだと知っていました。そして、神様は彼を通してその立証となることを話してくださいました。パウロは彼の時代の文化に鑑みて話しましたが、福音に対する世界の見方を思う時、彼の時代と殆ど変っていません。幾つかの宗派の「Sophisticated Christians（洗練されたクリスチャン）」は、聖書が神話だと主張し、奇跡を否定し、キリストの復活さえも否定します。それをセミナーで教えているのです。今日の節によると、彼らは破滅へと向かっていることになります！知的なプライドは大変危険なものです。神様や神様の啓示よりも、自分たちを上に置こうとする誘惑に遭うからです。

A: Coming from an academic, intellectual family as I do, this is a major issue for me, yet I see the same problem in others who don't have my background. In my case, the forebears were intelligent, educated, and deeply committed to Christ. It is instructive, and sad, that some of my relatives inherited the IQ without having faith passed on to them in their education. In some cases, Proverbs 3:5-6 has been honored far more in the breach than in obedience! God has been more than gracious to me, finally getting it through to me that I'm not smart, He is. I need to keep the Proverbs passage in my awareness at all times, because every time I rely on what I think is my wisdom, I will fall flat and make a terrible mess of things. God doesn't want us to throw out the brains He's given us, but He does want us to grasp as much as possible how much greater He is, so that by submitting to Him we will allow His power to flow through us.

Ａ：　私は学識、教養のある家庭で育ったので、これは大きな問題です。私を同じ環境になくとも、同じ問題を抱えている人がいます。いずれにしても、先祖は賢く、教養があり、教育を受けており、キリストに深く献身していました。高い知能指数を受け継ぎながら、信仰を受け継がせていない親戚を見ると、ためにもなりますが、同時に悲しくもあります。箴言３：５～６では、従う人よりも、神様と不和の人により大切に受け止められています。神様は私に恵み以上であり、知恵者は神様であり、私は賢くないことに、ようやく気付きました。私は箴言のこの節をいつも心に留めていたいと思います。毎回、自分の知恵に頼っていると思うからです。それでは、完全に失敗し、ひどい混乱になるでしょう。神様は私たちに与えてくださった頭脳を捨ててほしいと望んでおられるのではありません。そうではなく、神様の偉大さを可能な限り、知ってほしいと望んでおられます。神様に委ねることで、神様の力が私たちを通して流れるのです。

P: Father, thank You for pointing out what a dangerous minefield we live in. There are snares and traps on every side, and human wisdom won't keep us out of them. Help me fix my heart on You completely, letting Your Spirit show me the way to go, so that my words and my actions may lead others into the path of life, in full discipleship, for Your glory. Thank You. Hallelujah!

Ｐ：お父様。大変危険な状態にあることを示してくださり感謝します。どこにでも罠と落とし穴があります。人間の知恵で避けることはきません。私の心を完全にあなたに固定し、聖霊様に道を進むべき道を示していただきます。私の言葉を行動が他の人の人生の手本となり、十分な弟子となれますように。あなたのご栄光のために。ハレルヤ！
