第１ペテロ 3:8-18

S: 第１ペテロ 3:15 むしろ、心の中でキリストを主としてあがめなさい。そして、あなたがたのうちにある希望について説明を求める人には、だれにでもいつでも弁明できる用意をしていなさい。

O: Here we have it: the fundamental methodology of personal evangelism. It must be based on a personal relationship to Jesus Christ as Lord, which is to say, it's not something to do because other people expect it of you. It's got to come out of an awareness of the grace of God to you personally, or it will come across as empty and/or manipulative. If we have such a relationship, such an awareness, then our lives will bubble over with hope, with peace and joy in the middle of whatever circumstances we find ourselves in, and that is enormously attractive, especially to those who are hungering for such hope, peace and joy. It is at this point that preparation comes in. When someone asks us why we always have a smile on our face, we need to be able to tell them more than “I feel good.” Canned Gospel presentations aren't the best thing, for sure, but they are better than nothing. What is most effective, and satisfying, is simply sharing what God has done for us in Christ. That requires familiarity with Scripture, but it doesn't require memorizing long passages, but some key verses can be helpful. Above all, it calls for knowing what God has done for us, which will certainly multiply our hope, peace and joy!

O: 個人的な伝道をする際の基本的なことが書かれています。伝道にはイエス・キリストを 主として個人的な関係を持つことが基本であるべきです。人から期待されるているからという理由であってはいけません。神様の恵みが個人的に与えられたとい う気づきから起るべきです。さもなくば、虚無感か操作的な教えで終わってしまうでしょう。しかし、神様の恵みに気づき、しっかりした関係を持っているなら ば、どんな状況下でも、希望と平安、喜びある生き方となります。そうした生き方ができるなら、希望、平安、喜びに餓えた人を引きつけます。なぜ私たちがい つも微笑んでいられるかと聞かれたら、単に「楽しいから」という以上の答えを与えられるでしょう。ないよりはマシですが、型にはまった福音が最高とは言え ません。最も効果的で満足できるのは、キリストにあって神様が私たちにして下さったことを分かち合うことです。そのためには聖書をよく知っておかなくては なりませんが、決して長い節を暗記する必要はありません。しかし鍵となる節は役立ちます。とりわけ、神様が私たちにしてくださった箇所を知ることで、希 望、平安、喜びを倍増されます。

A: My job as a pastor/teacher is to prepare and equip the believers so that they will both know and be able to share what God has done for them in Christ. I preach week by week, but I also need to provide specific, focused teaching. The devotional readings from the 12^th are a good start, because they deal with what we have in Christ, but I need to help the people see what is really there. I often fail to cover the basics thoroughly enough simply because they are so familiar to me, forgetting that they aren't so familiar to others who haven't had the same upbringing I have.

Ａ：　私の牧師、教師としての仕事は、神様がキリストにあって私たちにしてくださった ことを信者に教え、分かつようにしてもらうことです。毎週、説教をしていますが、具体的に焦点を当てた教えをしたいと思っています。キリストで私たちが得 たことが書かれていますので、12日からのデヴォーション日課はその良いスタートでしょう。読んだ人の理解を助けて行きたいと思います。私には当然過ぎ て、つい、基本的なことを飛ばしてしまいがちですが、私とは違う環境で育った人たちはそうではないのですから。

P: Father, thank You for making the focus of Sunday morning's message clear. Keep me from coming across as hounding the believers. Help me rather open their eyes to the glorious riches of Your grace, so that they won't be able to stop talking about it out of sheer joy. I obviously can't do that in my own wisdom and power; use me, speak through me to touch the heart of each hearer. May we, as individuals and as a body, be so aware of Your love and grace toward us that we will radiate hope, peace, joy and love to one another and to all around us, not allowing the devil to steal any of that but living as You intend, for the salvation of many and for Your glory. Thank You. Hallelujah!
