S: マタイ 11:6 「だれでもわたしにつまずかない者は幸いです。」
O: For someone who was raised with the awareness of Jesus as the Christ, the Son of the living God, it seems incredible, but many people are offended at Jesus. It was true during His earthly ministry, and it is true today. I have dealt with several people who have been quite offended at His claim to be the only way to the Father, and people find various other reasons to be offended at Him as well. All of it boils down to pride: I want to decide how I am going to get to eternal glory with God, and I want it to be on my terms. The problem with that is that throughout the Bible it is very clear that God rejects the proud but gives grace to the humble. Someone who knows and acknowledges their own weakness and need receives Jesus with humility and joy.
O: イエスをキリストとして、生ける神の御子として知って育った人は大変、恵まれています。ですが、多くの人はイエスのゆえに攻撃を受けます。イエスのこの世 でのミニストリーにおいてもそうでしたし、また今でもそうです。御父に至る道は唯一イエスのみだと主張することで、攻撃されたり、他の理由で攻撃される人 がいます。それらは全てプライドから来ている問題です。どのようにして神様とともに永遠の栄光を得るかを私は自身で決めたいのです。聖書を通してはっきり と書かれているように、神様は驕る者を拒み、謙遜な者に恵みを与えるとあります。自分の弱さを知り、認めている人は謙遜と喜びを持ってイエスを受け入れま す。
A: Pride has been one of my biggest enemies over the years, causing me to stumble many times in many ways. That awareness should cause me to have patience and compassion with those who are struggling as I did, but it should also keep me persistent in speaking the truth in love. I have learned that I personally can't “fix” anyone, but I must not forget that nothing is impossible for God. I need to use His wisdom to remove false stumbling blocks that the devil sets up between people and Christ, so that as many as will may come and be saved.
Ａ： プライドは私が数年、抱えている大きな問題の一つです。プライドのために幾度となく色々な面でつま づきました。しかし、こうした気付きがあったからこそ、私と同じ問題を持った人に忍耐をもって共感できるのです。愛をもって真理を語りぬくことができるの です。私は個人的に誰をも「治せない」と学びましたが、神様に会って不可能はないことを忘れないようにします。キリストと人の間に仕掛けられた悪魔の妨げ を取り除くために、神様の知恵を求めます。多くの人が救われるためにです。
P: Father, thank You that I could watch that Pilgrim's Progress DVD last night. As a movie it certainly wasn't exceptional, but John Bunyan (the original author) had some real insights as to the sorts of things that keep people from salvation. Help me steer clear of those myself and help others avoid them as well, so that Your house may indeed be full, for Your glory. Thank You. Praise God!
