ルカ 24:1-8

S: ルカ 24:5-6 「あなたがたは、なぜ生きている方を死人の中で捜すのですか。ここにおられません。よみがえられたのです。」

O: People look for God, even for Jesus, in all sorts of strange places, but they often fail to recognize Him when they see Him, just as several people failed to recognize Jesus soon after His resurrection. The average person expects to find Jesus in a church building, the grander the better, but God doesn't inhabit buildings per se. Jesus Himself said that He could be found wherever two or three people are gath­ered in His name. The problem with our perception of that is that we might be using His name but not be gathering in His name, that is, in agreement with who He is. Many people visit church and fail to encounter Jesus because the members of the church are there for their own reasons, out of habit or social pressure or whatever, rather than seeking God and being open to His Spirit. The other side of that is that people can encounter a group of believers who are genuinely alive in the Spirit and still not find God, simply because what they experience doesn't match their preconceptions. However, prolonged exposure to such a group has a way of shattering preconceptions!

Ｏ： 　人は様々な場所で神を探します。復活後のイエスを見ても信じなかった人のように、私たちもまたイエスを見ていながら気づきません。大抵の人は教会という 建物に行けばイエスに出会えると期待しています。大きな建物であればあるほど良いと思っていますが、神は建物の中におられるのではありません。イエスの御 何おいて2～3人が集まるところにイエスはおられると教えています。問題は私たちがイエスの御名を用いながら、イエスの御名によって集まっていないという 認識にあります。神という同一の認識に立っていないのです。多くの人が教会を訪れながら、イエスを出会えずにいるのは、教会メンバーの個々の理由のためで しょう。神を求めるのでも、聖霊に心を開くのでもなく、単なる習慣で来ている人、周りに促されて来ているだけの人がいます。また、聖霊に生きた真の信仰を もった信者たちと出会い、なお神を見つけられない人もいます。それは、その人の神に対する考えが他の信者たちを一致しないからでしょう。しかし、信仰心あ る信者たちと長くいると、始めに持っていた考えも変わってくるのです！

A: I have certainly found Jesus, so my question is how do I introduce Him to others. The purpose of this church is to glorify God by worship, fellowship, and introducing Him to others, so this is no trivial matter. As a church we need to be agreed and focused on this purpose for our existence, which of course means being focused on Jesus Himself, by His Spirit. As pastor, I need to examine all of my activities, first of all, and then all the activities of the church in light of that purpose, and eliminate, modify, and add as necessary to fulfill that purpose.

Ａ： 　私自身はしっかりとイエスと出会っているのですが、問題はどのようにして人にイエスを教えるかにあります。この教会の目的は礼拝、交わり、神を人に伝え ることによって、神に栄光を帰すことにあります。ですから、どのように神を人に伝えるかは些細なことではありません。教会として、私たちの在り方に目を向 け、一致を見る必要があります。そのためには、聖霊によってイエス様に集中していなくてはいけません。牧師として、まず私が自分の行動をよく見直し、この 教会の目的に照らして人の行動を見直していくべきでしょう。教会意義のために、削除すべき点、加える点を考慮していきます。

P: Hallelujah! Father, I certainly didn't expect You to give me a precise, clear, understandable mission statement in my devotions this morning, but that's what You've done. Thank You! Show me now how to get every member of this church on board, with full, enthusiastic participation. I have been reading for years that each organization needs such a statement, and I have been fully convinced, I think, but I haven't been able to see what ours should be. Thank You for the magnificent vision of Omura being again the foremost Christian city in Japan, and thank You now for this clear statement of what we are to be and do to accomplish that vision. May all of Your plans for us be accomplished, on Your schedule and for the salvation of millions, for Your glory. Thank You. Hallelujah!
