S: 第２テサロニケ 3:5 どうか、主があなたがたの心を導いて、神の愛とキリストの忍耐とを持たせてくださいますように。
O: The more you think about this simple prayer the more interesting it becomes. Our hearts being led into God's love has two facets: His love for us, and His love through us to others. Every person on earth needs to know and grasp how much God loves them. At this point those who really grasp that are a small minority. One of the clearest indicators that someone has grasped God's love for them is how they allow that love to flow through them to those around them. We love God because He first loved us, but as the Bible makes very clear in more than one passage, failure to love our brothers in concrete, practical ways is evidence that we don't love God, either. Lots of people claim to be Christians, yet fail this test.
The other half of this prayer is that we will be led into Christ's endurance (or patience). The movie Passion gave a clear and graphic picture of how much Christ endured physically on our behalf, but it didn't deal much with the day-to-day endurance of insults and rejection that He likewise endured for us. Going yet further, He is incredibly patient with us right now. As I have commented numerous times, if I were God I would have given up on me long ago! Those who follow Christ are called to exercise His patient endurance of all the negative things that are part of life on this earth, and to have His joy in the process! (John 16:33 again)
O: シンプルな祈りですが、この御言葉を深く読むほどに、より興味深く感じます。神様の私たちへの愛、私たちを通して示される他の人たちへの愛、この二つが わかります。この地上で生きる全ての人は神がどれほど私たちを愛しておられるかを知っているべきです。今は、このことをきちんと分かっている人はほんの少 しです。神様の愛を、自分を通して人に伝えるようにしているか否かで、神様の愛を分かっているかどうかうかがえます。神様が先ず私たちを愛して下さったの です。ですから私たちも神様を愛しましょう。そして聖書ははっきりと、兄弟を愛さないことは神を愛していないことだと具体的、実際的に述べています。多く の自称クリスチャンがいますが、これに失敗しています。こ の御言葉の後半では、私たちが神様の忍耐を持つようにと祈られています。映画「パッション」ではキリストがどれほど人間のためにに託体的な試練に耐えたか が映像で分かりますが、キリストが日々私たちのために侮蔑や拒否に耐えたかは示してありません。キリストは私たちのために今も大いに耐えておられます。よ く言うことですが、もし私が神であるなら、とうの昔に私という人間を見限っていることでしょう！この地上の一部である否定的な側面に耐えるためにキリスト はいます。しかし、その中にあっても喜んでいましょう！（ヨハネ１６：３３）
A: I am growing in both these areas, but I often wish my progress were faster! However, impatience simply indicates how much room to grow I still have. Receiving, remembering, and exercising God's love will equip me to get through any situation with all the patient endurance necessary. I need to be patient with myself, with others, and with God's timing, because I know, both from the Bible and from experience, that God's time frame and mine don't match, but His is always right. As I wait for God's timing for growth in me and in others, I need to focus on the incredible richness of His love for me, so that I will allow it to flow unhindered through me, covering over all the wounds I have received and I have inflicted, for His glory.
Ａ： 上に書いた両方の分野で私は成長していると思いますが、もっと急速に成長できた らと願うことが、しばしばです！しかし、その忍耐の無さもまた忍耐の分野で成長すべきことを示しています。神様の愛をいただき、覚え、実行することで、忍 耐が求められるどんな状況にでも対応できるようになります。私自身も、神様の時宜にかなって、経験あるいは聖書を通して、自分自身、人に対して忍耐強くあ りたいと思います。神様の時宜と私のそれとでは異なりますが、いつでも神様のタイミングの方が正しいのです。私と人々の成長に神様のタイミングが合う時を 待ちながら、私への神様の豊かな愛に目を向けていきます。その愛が妨げられることなく私を通して流れ、私の傷が全て覆われますように。そして神様のご栄光 のために。
P: Father, thank You again for Your patience with me. Thank You for getting us safely to and from the meeting last night. Thank You for the clear Word spoken by Pastor Takimoto. Thank You also for the clear and honest conversation I could have with Mr. F. I pray that he would open his heart to receive Your gift of faith. It is interesting to me that someone can be convinced that Christianity is the right religion and yet be unable to accept the true Divinity of Jesus. Thinking about it, there are lots of people like that, including some theologians! Help me express Your love and exercise Your patience toward him, so that in Your timing he may indeed be born again, for his salvation and Your glory. Thank You. Praise God!
