テトス 3:1-15

S: テトス 3:8 これは信頼できることばですから、私は、あなたがこれらのことについて、確信を持って話すように願っています。それは、神を信じている人々が、良いわざに励むことを心がけるようになるためです。これらのことは良いことであって、人々に有益なことです。

O: After giving a clear synopsis of the Gospel, Paul goes on to say that he wants Titus to proclaim this with all assurance, reminding him that it is beneficial to all because it will encourage believers to live like believers indeed. We are amazingly prone to not live up to what we profess. The devil, liar that he is, does his utmost to foster doubt in the minds and hearts of people, even believers. That's why it is helpful to rehearse the basics occasionally, reminding ourselves just how amazing God's grace really is, and how wonderful the salvation He has provided for us in Christ Jesus. When we are rejoicing in that grace, that salvation, then we are strong against the devil and he will flee from us as we resist him.

O: 　福音について明確な概要を示した後、パウロはテトスに望んでいることを述べている箇所です。信者が信者らしく生きるように励ますために、テトスが確信を 持って語ることをパウロは望んでいます。私たちは呆れるほどに公言した生き方をできません。騙す存在である悪魔は人の心と思いに疑いを懸命に植え付けま す。信者の心にさえ植え付けます。だですから、神様の私たちへの恵みがどれほど深いか、イエス・キリストによって備えられた救いがどれほど素晴らしいかを 思い出し、悪魔に欺かれない練習が時には必要なのです。私達が恵みを喜んでいる時、悪魔に対して力強く対抗し、自由になれるのです。

A: I need to cover the basics again and again because we are so prone to forget them, practically speaking. I indeed want to go on to cover more and more, just as it says in Hebrews 6, but I've got to be sure the foundation is secure in the believers or any superstructure will collapse. Not only do I need to proclaim the Gospel with all assurance, I need to teach the believers to do likewise. Nothing strength­ens faith quite like proclaiming it! Japan is indeed a difficult place for evangelism, but it is not an impossible place, and I need to encourage the believers to expect and look forward to the opportunities God will give them to share their faith.

Ａ： 　私たちは、この基本である教えを忘れがちです。私は繰り返し教えていきたいと思います。へブル６のように、本当にもっともっと教えていきたいのです。基 礎のない上層部は崩壊することを信者が知り、確固とした基礎に立って欲しいと望んでいます。ですから、確信を持って福音を伝えるだけではなく、信者にも福 音を伝える人となってほしいのです。福音を伝えることほど信仰を強めさせるものはありません！確かに日本は伝道の難しい国です。しかし、決して不可能では ありません。神様が信者に信仰を分かつ機会を用意されていることを知ってもらい、信者が期待しながら喜んで仕えてほしいと願います。

P: Father, thank You for this reminder. With today's extreme rain, the turnout is likely to be small in today's services. Help me use this opportunity to communicate on a personal level with each person who does come, hearing what they have to say and speaking Your truth in love to them. Thank You for the two messages You've given me for today. I pray that each person You want to be here in person to hear them will be, and that the recording of the morning service will likewise reach all for whom You intend it. May my focus be on You first, then on those You bring to me, and last on myself, so that I will be fully available for all You want to do through me, for Your glory. Thank You. Praise God!
