S: テトス 2:11-13 と いうのは、すべての人を救う神の恵みが現れ、私たちに、不敬虔とこの世の慾とを捨て、この時代にあって、慎み深く、正しく、敬虔に生活し、祝福された望 み、すなわち、大いなる神である私たちの救い主であるキリスト・イエスの栄光ある現われを待ち望むようにの教えさとしたからです。
O: Paul and his long sentences! I think the reason he used such long sentences so often was because so much of the Gospel is interconnected, and he tried to show that grammatically. However, that certainly makes it rough on translators! The major point of this passage to me is that the better we understand the grace of God, the more pure and holy our lives will be. In Romans 6 Paul goes to some length to refute the idea that if God's grace is so great, it doesn't matter what we do since the cross covers it all. As Peter says in 2 Peter 1:9, failure to live a godly life means we don't understand the power of the cross at all; we've forgotten that it cleansed us so that we don't need to do any of that worldly junk. The devil does all he can to block understanding of God's grace, and often he's all too successful!

A: I am to be a preacher of grace, as all preachers of the Gospel are called to be, but that must be neither sloppy grace nor legalism. From the human perspective the line between those extremes can be very narrow indeed, but God can enable me to walk it accurately. I've got to depend on Him for that, though, because I know I don't have the wisdom or strength to do it on my own. I need to teach grace as Paul speaks of it here, so that the understanding of it will draw my hearers closer to God in obedient fellowship with Him, out of joyful appreciation for that grace.
Ａ： 全ての説教者がそうであるように、私もまた恵みを教える者となりたいのです。その教えは単なる安っぽい恵みでもなければ、カチカチの律法主義であっても いけません。人間の視点からすると、この両極端の違いはあまりありませんが、神様は私が正しく歩くようにして下さっています。私は自分に知恵も強さもない ことをよく知っていますから、神様に頼っていきます。ここでパウロが教えているように私も恵みを伝え、多くの人を神様へ導き、神様と交わり従ってもらい、 何よりも恵みを感謝してもらいたいと願っています。
P: Father, it has become a cliché that Your grace is amazing, but that doesn't make it any less amazing! Help me stay in sharp awareness of how amazing it is, how gracious it is, and not take it for granted. May my life be an illustration of what it is to walk in Your grace, discarding the world's value system and expressing yours instead. Help me communicate that to all around me, both through preaching and through my daily life and conversation. Thank You that You are indeed restoring to me the joy of Your salvation, not through eliminating all the difficulties of my life but through helping me release them to You, since I couldn't solve them anyway! It has taken me a long time to get even this far; help me speak Your truth in Your love to the believers so that they won't have to take so long to get here! Thank You. Praise God!
